Padre Dam Municipal Water District built Santee Lakes to demonstrate the promise of water recycling. Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve hosts over 750,000 visitors annually. The 190_acre Park has seven beautiful recycled water lakes that are stocked with sport fish year-round. Two million gallons of water each day is recycled at our Ray Stoyer Water Reclamation Facility north of Santee Lakes, and the water flows through Santee Lakes which creates a unique recreation area.
