The beach is in the shadow of'restaurants and hotels, but is still a scenic spot. On sunny days if you are just walking around and shopping on the waterfront, it is'worth a stop to sit on the rocks behind the beach. Scuba divers and kayakers launch at McAbee Beach when conditions are right. Old concrete walls and foundations sit among the rocks reminding us of the hard-working pre-tourism past here
