This working ranch is located in the center of the best elk hunting country in Colorado. It is nestled between the Flattops, the Yampa Valley and Gore Pass. The lodge is located at an elevation of 8100 feet with the private land extending up to 9300 feet. The rich Yampa grass and cool timbered forests attract thousands of elk to the area. Mule deer and black bear are also plentiful. In addition to great hunting on the 3,400 acre private ranch, the Routt National Forest borders the property on three sides. The permit area includes 10,000 acres of hunting on the National Forest. Our hunting property is located in GMU #15 on the west side of Gore Pass. The lodge is 40 miles south of Steamboat Springs and 45 miles north of Vail. The hunting terrain varies from gentle to steep and from giant meadows to heavily treed mountains. Our kill ratios have been very high. Many of our hunters kill both a cow and bull elk. Our return business has averaged 85% with many of those clients hunting with us for more than 5-years.
