About L J Blessings Ranch

The L J Blessings Ranch, located just outside Freer, TX in Duval County, is in the heart of South Texas Brush Country. L J Blessings was once part of the larger Cabeza Ranch of approximately 20,000 acres owned by the Welder Family with history dating back to the 1800's. Come experience white-tailed deer hunting on roughly 1,000 acres, that hunts like 3000-4000 because of the thickness of the vegetation. All great home-cooked meals will be served in our big, new, beautiful cedar-finished lodge where you can view many deer heads taken from this ranch. To make your stay comfortable, we offer hunters a separate 4 bedroom, 2 bath house including a TV room and kitchen. Non-hunters are very welcome. The owner, Jim Foulkrod, has been hunting in South Texas for over 20 years. His outdoor experience and knowledge of the land will ensure the hunt of a lifetime! Each hunter will be paired to one experienced guide and you will be hunting from many different, great elevated bow or gun blinds, all with walk-up stairs. We have both rifle and bow ranges to sight in your weapons.
