About Yaak River Outfitters

Yaak River Outfitters is the oldest existing outfitting company in the Yaak Valley, Montana. Since I have been hunting and fishing these beautiful lakes and streams my whole life your hunting or fishing adventure with us will be the trip of a lifetime. Our season starts in late June or early July with fishing on Lake Okaga. The Rainbow trout fishing is second to none. We offer upland game bird hunts that start in early September with ruff blue and spruce grouse. The the fall hunting season begins with archery hunting for elk and deer. We will take only a limited number of hunters per year as we stress high quality hunts as opposed to taking on a lot of clients making it difficult to produce the kind of quality hunting experience we want our clients to have. We will do fall bear hunts as well, our area has a high number of bears with a variety of color phase black bears. There is whitetail deer, elk, mule deer, moose, bear, and some mountain lion hunts if you draw a tag. We have beautiful trails to hike, and our old growth larch and spruce stands are great places to take a photo walk on. Or you can picnic by the East Fork Falls or just relax by the lake. The Upper Yaak Valley is one of the most beautiful places on earth and we will strive to make your trip an adventure to remember!
